Charges laid in fatal hit-and-run in east London | CBC News

London police have charged a 32-year old man in connection to a collision on Nov. 10 that killed a 37-year old woman and injured a second person as they were out walking in the area of Spruce Street near Wavell Street. 

Police were called to the scene at 9:40 p.m. on that Wednesday night. The victim, Sarah Courtney Dixon, was rushed to hospital where she succumbed to her injuries. 

The vehicle involved in the collision was described as a newer-style silver sedan, last seen travelling southbound on Spruce Street.

Police issued a public plea for information about the collision, including anyone who may have had dash-cam video or security footage of the incident. There’s no word on what evidence led to an arrest.

A 32-year old man has now been charged with failing to stop at the scene of an accident causing death and public mischief.

He is due in court Feb. 7, 2022.
